Easter wasn't quite the same this year with Jason being gone, but we snuck in an Easter egg hunt at the Benson park and a delicious ham dinner with friends the Saturday before Easter. I was so thrilled the government scheduled Jason to leave Easter morning for Kansas....or not, but we made the best of it. :) This year, I focused a little more on the real meaning behind Easter with Carson. He's really interested in Jesus and asks me questions all the time, so I thought this would be a great time for him to receive his first bible. I had done my research and came up with this one....the
Jesus Storybook Bible, and Carson loves it so far. Owen will even sit in and listen and point to the pictures. We read about the Easter story and then ended up reading until the end of the book. Our crafts for the week also included
a palm branch in honor of Palm Sunday,
thumbprint chick cards for the grandparents, and a
tissue paper cross collage that we taped to our front window. We also had another Easter egg hunt in our backyard after Jason left and dyed Easter eggs. We hope you all had a lovely Easter.

Carson and Owen at the Easter egg hunt at the Benson park. Jason said when the horn went off, Carson made a mad dash to the eggs and got quite a bit; I think he even made $3. However, our shy Owen clung to me the entire time. At least Carson was kind enough to share some of his eggs with Owen. It's crazy how different they can be, ha ha! |

I love this! :) |

Carson "helping" Owen. I'm pretty sure he just wanted to find more eggs since he had already found all of his! haha. |

The boys counting their eggs. Of course, they had to check that they had the same amount! haha! |
