Baseball Season Begins...

April marked an important time in the Heffel household....Owen was old enough to play teeball. After all the years of watching Carson play sports, it was his turn to step up to the plate (no pun intended!). He was so excited to have his own glove, his own cleats, his own coach, his own team, his own uniform. You name it - he was excited for it! :) When it came time for his first practice, his shyness took over and he got really nervous, but once a couple of practices were under his belt, he caught on really quickly and would tell me how all of his teammates were his friends now. If you know Owen, this was a huge step for him. He became less and less shy and started talking more and more. Who knew teeball could do so much?! :)
It was also a big time for Carson because he moved up to coach pitch. He was equally excited and nervous about having the coach pitch to him, but he also caught on quickly. The first couple of games, it took quite a few pitches for him to hit the ball, but as the season went on, he built confidence and was hitting line drives! He also did really well in the field. He may not be the most athletic, but he is a smart player, and knows what to do when he gets the ball. I had so much fun watching my boys shine on the field this year, even if we had practices 4 times a week and games 2-3 times a week. I was truly a baseball mom this year!
Below are pictures of Owen before his first practice, a video of him at one of his practices and pictures from the opening day parade. I think each boy will have a separate post with pictures of the games because this proud mama took a lot of pics and video!
