Family hike at Cochise Stronghold

I have been trying to find new places to hike and explore in our area, and Cochise Stronghold has been at the top of list for a few months. The first time the boys and I tried to hike there, the national park was closed due to that lovely government shutdown. I had driven an hour with the boys to find this out, by the way, so we got out and explored a little anyways. Shh, don't tell we crossed the gate! We came back after all the shutdown madness was over, this time with Jason in tow, and had a lovely family day in the mountains! The trail was fun, the scenery beautiful, and the hiking company wasn't too shabby. :)

Carson was in a posing mood - he kept asking me to take his picture every few steps, ha ha!

Boys will be boys.....

I love is hair!

The boys thought this big boulder was awesome. We had just watched the Croods movie, so of course we had a stop and pretend we were the Croods hiding out in their cave for a bit. :)

We even saw some horses!

Who needs toys when you have low hanging branches to play on! :)

This is how Owen rode back down the path. He gave it all he had going up the trail. :)

Lizards - tons of lizards.
