Mikey the Tadpole

As a science experiment, I thought it would be fun to get a grow-a-frog for the boys. The company sends you a tadpole and you watch it go through it's life cycle by growing back legs, then front legs and then turning into a full-fledge frog. This frog is different, however, as it never leaves the water. I thought, hey, this will be easy. Wrong! The little tank they sent us kept getting super cloudy and it was so hard to keep clean. Plus, the boys lost interest because the tadpole was taking so long to change. And one month later, poor little Mikey was floating at the top. I am starting to come to the conclusion that I am just not good with animals - my sister got all of those skills. :) At least the boys got a little science lesson out of it. Below, you can see pictures of their frog life cycle craft. And Owen was practicing the letter F. Owen loves to practice writing and has become quite the little drawer as well. I will have to upload some of his creations soon.

This is actually Owen's paper. He has quite the tracing skills!
