Snow Days

This January, we focused on everything SNOW! We made snow paint (shaving cream mixed with a little glue and it puffs up when it dries). The boys absolutely loved this. We made all kinds of colors, painted snowmen with it, and I was crazy enough to let them cover the entire kitchen table with it. Someone must have slipped something in my coffee that day! :P After a trip to the children's museum, we found a homemade snow kit, so that was our next snow project. It ended up only making a couple of cups, but the boys still had fun putting their hands in it, and Carson eventually decided his dinosaurs would have a snow day. :) Then, it actually snowed - twice! It doesn't stay long in Arizona, so after breakfast, I immediately bundled up the boys and we headed outside. There was just enough snow to make snow angels, throw some snowballs and make a little snowman (complete with a KU hat, I might add!). When I saw it was snowing, I laid out a big clean sheet and collected a bunch of it, and we made snow ice cream. Not a bad ending to our snow unit, but we are so ready for spring now!

Carson and Owen's second snowman of the season - this one is much bigger and complete with a ninja turtle weapon. :)
