The important thing is, O is perfectly healthy and is 50 percent in height and weight. Developmentally, he is right on track. He knows some colors and shapes, and he loves to pretend to write his name (I'm sure he wants to be like his big brother on that one!). In fact, he tries to do everything Carson does - including cutting with scissors, which I keep a close eye on, although we do have 2 shirts with holes in them now. :P He also loves to run and jump, and he has taken great strides in his talking and vocabularly.
Our next step is a big one - potty training! He has been showing a great deal of interest, so I want to jump in now when he's interested, rather than wait and him lose interest. Today was our first day, and he did great! He always wants to go sit on his potty, and he wore his new Thomas the train underwear (which he picked out) all day with only 1 pee accident and 1 poop behind the couch (reminds me so much of Carson back in the day, haha). By the way, I am loving my portable steam cleaner during those times! I don't remember Carson being this gung-ho about it, but it helps that Owen wants to be exactly like his big brother. He wants to wear underwear like Carson does, and he wants to use the big potty like Carson does - you get the picture! So Carson was also a great help in potty training Owen today - party because he likes to "order", um, I mean help Owen. :P It really does melt my heart to see and hear Carson helping his little brother grow up. I am not niave and I'm sure there will be setbacks, but let's hope Owen continues on his path towards no diapers!
I really couldn't ask for a brighter or more fun little boy to raise. He challenges me and melts my heart each and every day.
Just a few pictures recently with his 2-year-old hair cut. :)
