Turkey Day 2011

Still playing catch-up! :) Here are a few of our Thanksgiving pictures and activities. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with some great friends. We have so much to be thankful for this year; our family, friends, health, home, the list could go on and on. We hope your holidays were just as enjoyable.
The two precious boys I'm most thankful for!

I found this idea on Pinterest and fell in love with it! But of course I didn't get around to printing it out until November was half over, which is why our trees are not as full as they should be! :) We printed these Thanks and Giving trees (which started out bare) and glued them on some canvases I bought. We hung up our bare trees on the wall, and at the end of each day we cut out a leaf and wrote one thing we were thankful for to put on the "Thanks" tree. And on another leaf, we wrote one nice thing we did to help someone that day to put on the "Giving" tree. Carson started out saying he was thankful for dinosaurs, but as the days went on, he thought of some more significant things, such as he was thankful for his home and his grandparents. The giving tree really helped him start thinking about nice things he could do to help me and Owen. We also participated in the Operation Shoebox this year, so he was really excited to write that one on a leaf. I think this is going to be a new tradition each November in our household, and hopefully next year Owen can join in too!

Carson's paper bag turkey he made at one of the local church's craft time. We had a lot of fun coloring a Thanksgiving placemat, making a turkey out of candy as our snack, playing Thanksgiving Bingo and making this turkey. I'm sure we will be attending more of their craft times in the future!

And Carson's drawing of a turkey for your viewing pleasure! :)
