Midwest Trip - Part 1

Our annual fall trip to the Midwest was a fun and eventful one this year. The stomach flu made its rounds through the family, but we still managed to get some fun in. :) First stop was Heffelfest in Missouri with the Heffel clan. Carson and Owen had fun playing with their cousins,  Elliotte and Mason, and we got a little fishing in, too. It also happened to be my 30th birthday, so I got sung to, had two delicious cakes and received cards from everyone - I felt so blessed being able to spend my birthday with such fun and good-hearted family.

Next stop, Gammy and Papa Steve's farm, where Carson and Owen had fun exploring all the farm had to offer. Each night when they came in from playing, they were covered in dirt - boys will be boys! :) Carson was so happy to have his cousin, Braxton, to play and explore with. I'm so glad he has one cousin around his age because although he is so kind to all the babies and loves them dearly, he really looks up to Braxton and has a lot of fun with him. To end our second leg of our trip, Brenda, the boys and I headed to the Wichita Zoo, where we had a great time observing all the animals.

I have so many pictures to share, that I had to split it into two posts...so see the next post for pictures from our last trip stop.
