Am I really a mom to a 4-year-old? I can't believe it has been 4 years since Carson came into our lives. He has grown into a thoughtful, funny, sweet, handsome little boy, and I can't wait to see what the next 4 years will bring! I feel truly blessed to be his mom. This year, he was all about having a Yoshi birthday party with his friends, so I put my creative skills to work to make his wish come true. :) I always have fun with the boys' birthday parties - I really look forward to making each of their birth days special each year. Carson still talks about the omnidroid I made for his 3rd birthday, and this year his face lit up when I showed him the yoshi. It's moments like that that make all my hard work worth it! We had so many great friends help Carson celebrate turning 4 this year - and we can't thank you enough for your company. I know Carson had a great time, and I hope everyone else did, too. While I'm on the subject of thanking people, we also want to thank all the grandparents and aunts and uncles who sent gifts - Carson loved getting all the mail, and your thoughtfulness made his day a little more special.
We had to hold Carson's party a day earlier than his birthday, so on his actual birth day, we took him to Chuck E. Cheese for lunch. We all had a fun time eating pizza, playing games and enjoying time together. Owen particularly enjoyed the music and was seen dancing and shaking his head for the majority of our visit. I'm thinking he gets a Chuck E. Cheese birthday party next year! :)

Owen keeping an eye on everything in the backyard. :) |

The Mario Cart cake! I bought the little pull-back cars off ebay, and my friend, Aidalys, made the little mushrooms and eggs from clay. I thought it turned out pretty cute! |
The yoshi egg pinata. This was my first attempt at making a pinata, and it was a lot of fun! I just might make it a tradition to make one for each of the boys' birthdays. |

Carson getting ready to smack the yoshi egg! |

A good picture of all the kids in line for the pinata. Carson is disappointed his turn is over, hah. |

Me and the birthday boy - too bad there was so much light in the background. |

I caught Owen MANY times during the day trying to open Carson's gifts, haha! |
So happy to finally be opening his gifts! :) |
Carson on his new bike! Don't worry, we got him a helmet, too. Being the cautious one, he is, he isn't too comfortable on it yet, but with a little practice I think he'll love it. His preschool has Wheel's Day at the end of each month, so I'm sure that will provide him with some extra encouragement when he sees his friends riding their bikes, too. |
Owen wanted to check out Carson's new ride, too. :) |

The mushroom sign on our door welcoming the kids. |
The invitation - I could only find yoshi thank you carsd, so I covered up the wording and made them into invitations. |
Happy with their winnings! :) |
They were not too thrilled with this ride, haha. |
Love his one! |
