Activities from the past few months....

I have so many random pictures from the past few months that I have not posted on the blog, so I am clumping them into one big post! With visits from the grandparents, Owen's birthday and preschool, I don't know how we fit all of these activities into the mix - I guess we just like to stay busy!

Carson is really into maze, dot-to-dot and waldo books right now. I also let him start playing Mario on my DS, not thinking he'd even be able to figure it out, but boy was I wrong. He is probably better than me, so his interests include mario, luigi and yoshi right now as well. He has told me numerous times that he wants a yoshi birthday party this year, so I better start figuring that out! Carson is also really into planets, which I was totally surprised about. I got him a planet book from scholastic, and he wants to read it all the time. He knows most of the planet names; he knows Mercury is closest to the sun and Neptune is farthest from the sun and Saturn has rings around it, and a bunch of other little facts. I told him this summer we can make a planet mobile, so he's pretty excited about that. Do I have a little scientist on my hands?? :)

Owen is starting to communicate much more all of the sudden. He is really into yes and no right now, or "yeah" and "naw" in Owen talk. And he shakes his head up and down or back and forth accordingly. He also loves to dance, and when he hears a song on the TV or the radio, he starts shaking his head and arms and bouncing up and down. I really need to get it on videotape! Owen is also learning body parts, mainly, eyes, nose, mouth. He loves being outside, and one of his new favorite avtivities is to 'draw' with chalk and shoot baskets with his mini basketball.

I came across this ice smashing activity on a couple of blogs, here's one...http://www.thepickyapple.com/blog/2010/07/15/ice-smashing/. I thought it would be something Carson would love. Owen didn't participate this time; he was napping, and it was probably a good thing because ice flew everywhere! Carson thought it was pretty cool to use daddy's hammer to rescue his toys.

Carson's rainbow mosaic made out of paint samples. He got to practice his scissor-cutting skills, and he always likes to pick out paint samples at the store. We ran out of a few colors, but that didn't deter him from finishing his rainbow. I got this activity here.....http://www.icanteachmychild.com/2011/03/rainbow-mosaic.html.

Owen is starting to actually "play" with his little friends. I was watching his friend, Bri, one day for her mom, and he thought it was great to have someone more his size around the house. He kept touching her arm, laughing and running away, haha.

Snack time!

Owen got into a pudding cup!

Our massive tent built by Jason

The boys were running around enjoying the tent so much that this was seriously the best picture I got of them!

Carson car painting - http://www.icanteachmychild.com/2010/08/car-painting.html.  He thought it was fun to see the different tracks the cars made with the paint, but I think what he really enjoyed was putting the cars through his car wash after the activity. I think I might try this with Owen next time!

Carson at Pump It Up with our friends Sandy, DJ and Teddy

Don't worry, Owen wasn't on the sidelines the entire time - I took him into a few of the jumpy castles. I just didn't want him to get trampled by the big kids!

Carson and DJ - sometimes Sandy and I can't tell the boys apart from the back! haha. Too bad Carson is blurry.
