Becoming Friends

A brother is a friend given by Nature. ~Jean Baptiste Legouve

Now that Owen is walking, Carson is starting to see him as more than his baby brother, and they are fast becoming friends. This is both a blessing and curse for me! I adore watching the boys play together; which is especially nice if I need to get some chores done. And Carson loves the fact that Owen will try to play dinosaurs with him, well as much as an 11-month-old can. Owen has his favorite little brontosaurus, and he will make the brontosaurus attack or walk alongside Carson's dinosaurs. We play dinosaurs so much, I was a little worried Owen would start roaring instead of talking!

But they are also starting to create trouble together....imagine that! :) The other week, I was sitting on the recliner checking my email, and the boys were behind the recliner playing (that is Carson's favorite "hiding" place)....or so I thought. I crawled back there to join in the fun, when I noticed they both had markers in their hands, yes Owen too, and they were drawing on the back of my recliner. Owen will copy, or attempt to copy, anything his brother is doing, which is normally very cute, but not this time!

Owen also finds it hilarious to run into Carson's room yelling and laughing when Carson is napping. He will look at me and after I tell him to come to mommy, he gets a huge smile on his face and mischievous twinkle in his eye and books it to Carson's room. Thankfully Carson is a heavy napper.

Here are a few pictures of the boys....

Carrie ~ LOVE your blog! What a wonderful way to share "happenings" & photos with family, and document Carson & Owen growing up! Wish I'd been able to do this for my girls!
