Carson's Crafts

I try to do a couple of crafts with Carson each week. He seems to enjoy it, and I do too!

I found an article that described how to make "fossils" with your child. And with Carson being the dinosaur lover he is, I thought it would be a perfect craft for us. First, we around the yard finding our sticks, or dinosaur bones as he called them, and some other random things to fossilize, such as acorns, leaves and yes, even a dead bug. Ick! Carson had fun gathering his finding with his shovel and bucket! Then I had to make the mixture, which was flour, coffee grinds and a few other things. Next, Carson stuck his findings into the mixture and the next morning it had hardened. He's so proud of his "fossils"!

Posing with his creations. :)

These are two of his toilet paper roll dinosaurs. He loved this craft and wants to do all of the dinosaurs in The Land Before Time. We have Sharptooth and Cera here, so we have a few more to go.

Our Christmas Countdown Santa. We made the Santa out of a paperplate. And he glued on cotton balls for Santa's hat and beard. Then we stampled together the links, and each day, he takes one link off, which tells us we're one day closer to Christmas!
