First stop on our midwest itinerary was Heffelfest. I am so thrilled we were able to make it this year, and that everyone on the Heffel side got to meet Carson and Owen....finally. I want the boys to know their family, and it's tough when we are here in Arizona, but we do what we can. The two days went by so fast, but we had a wonderful time catching up with everyone. Carson had a great time playing with "his boys" as he called them, and Owen is pretty much always content as long as I'm not too far. =) The only thing I wish was that I had taken more pictures! I always forget to take pictures until it is too late. Too bad I can't just hire a photographer to follow us around.
Our next stop was Gammy and Papa Steve's farm. Carson couldn't wait to jump on the trampoline, play at the "park" and see his cousin, Braxton. He loves to play with Sassy, Sadie, Brownie and Shadow as well. I think every time he talks on the phone with Brenda, he asks how the dogs are doing. My little animal lover. While in Oklahoma, we got to visit Gammy's 2nd grade classroom, where the boys are celebrities, haha. We ate lunch with the class, played during recess and Carson even partook on a game of Charades. The next day, Gammy and Papa Steve took us to the Wichita Zoo, where we got to see a ton of animals!
Our last stop was the Hillard house. One of the main reasons we made this trip was to attend Tessa and Blake's wedding reception, where once again, we were able to hang out with family and everyone got to meet Jason and I's pride and joys. I don't know if it was the cake or the music, but Carson ended up being a dancing machine that night. He also had a lot of fun playing with his third cousins. During our stay, we also did a little fishing and visited the Museum of World Treasures, where Carson got see a T-Rex skeleton in all it's glory.
We had an absolutely wonderful trip and are already counting down the days until Christmas, when Carson and Owen will have two more cousins to play with. =)
