We found a nice little campsite right next to the lake, so we were just steps from our fishing spot. Right away, Carson was in heaven exploring the area. In face, there was so much to explore, he didn't want anything to do with the tent. And he didn't help Jason's fishing much because one of his favorite activities for the trip was throwing rocks into the lake....and bread for the ducks. Carson was also impressed with the campfire. He thought it was pretty cool to cook the food right over the fire.
The next day, we decided to rent a rowboat to try our luck at fishing out on the lake, since we weren't having much luck from the shore. Carson got his own life jacket, and enjoyed a nice ride in the boat. We couldn't tell if he liked it or not during the boat right, but he keeps telling us how he wants to ride in a boat again, so I guess he liked it. We ended up heading home after our boat ride because I wasn't feeling the greatest, Jason was frustrated from not catching any fish, and Carson ended up getting stung by a bee on his hand. I'm so glad Carson does not share my allergy to bees, but it still did not sit well with him. Poor little guy! Needless to say, we all slept like babies in our own beds that night. Although our trip was short, it was still memorable.
