Trip to the Tucson Zoo

Last week, Carson and I, along with our friends Jessica, Logan and Jacob, decided to spend the day at the zoo. In Benson, it has been around 70 degrees outside in January. That weather is too nice not too enjoy outside. The day we decided to go, it actually ended up being cool in the morning, but as the day wore on it became a beautiful Arizona day. We didn't get off to the greatest start, first, I realized my batteries were dead in my camera, then seconds later, Logan fell in a big pile of mud! Luckily Jessica had packed another pair of pants and I was forced to buy some overpriced batteries. Thankfully, these were our only mishaps, and the rest of the day went really smoothly.

The one thing we both wanted to do was feed the giraffes. We made it to the giraffes with 15 minutes to spare before they closed the feeding booth! Whew! Carson enjoyed the giraffes from afar, especially since he knew what they were because he has giraffes in his bedroom. But once we got up close, he was a little more cautious. He warmed up to them the longer we were around them though, which fits very much with his personality. He likes to survey his surroundings. =) I think Jessica and I had the most fun feeding the giraffes, and the boys were obsessed with the big fish of all things! Carson had a good time playing with Logan, and he loved to pat Jacob and make sure he was okay. It was very sweet. Hmmm, maybe he is ready to be a big brother!

Carson and Logan loved the big fish.

The lion who kept roaring the whole time we were there. Carson wouldn't even go near the glass after he heard the lion roar.

White Peacock, I wish the picture would have turned out better.

Carson and Jacob in the double stroller; I had a good time practicing how to manuever it for when Carson gets a little brother or sister. =)
